I am Louisa and I have been supporting Star Gleam Education students with English for four years. I am an undergraduate student at the University of Edinburgh studying Philosophy and Theology, and have 3 A*s in English, History and Theology A-Level, as well as 8s and 9s in GCSE English.

Although I have guided Year 4 (10+), Year 5, and Key Stage 3 (pre-GCSE) students, I predominantly support Year 5 students with English preparation for 11+, grammar school entrance exams and independent school entrance exams. I specialise in preparation for SPAG (spelling, punctuation and grammar), comprehension and different creative writing styles (narrative, descriptive, persuasive e.t.c.).

I have run group classes for the past two years, including weekly group sessions for the year approaching 11+ examinations. I have also run every day Summer intensive courses in preparation for the Autumn 11+ exam diet. Additionally, I have run Christmas and Easter intensive courses focusing on creative writing skills for round two exams.
I also take one to one classes and, since October 2021, I have prepared students for Buckinghamshire and Kent Grammar Schools, Tiffin School (girls and boys), St Olave’s Grammar School, Henrietta Barnett School, Lady Eleanor Holles, Putney High School, Sutton Grammar School, Hampton School, Kingston Grammar School, Epsom College, Queen Elizabeth’s School, Slough grammar schools, Berkshire grammar schools, Wilson’s School and St Catherine’s School. I am familiar with the GL, CSSE and ISEB 11+ exam boards.

Although having tutored both group and 1-1 students in person, I take classes online and I am open to supporting students with their English skills and exam preparation online.
In my spare time, I love playing with my cats, dancing, visiting art galleries and reading. My favourite book is 'Pride and Prejudice' by Jane Austen.
